Whether you recognize her from “In My Arms” with Illenium, “Where You Are” with John Summit, “Faded” with Nelly Furtado, or any of the other countless hits she’s contributed her vocals to, HAYLA’s name should ring a bell for every EDM fan. But the rising British phenom is more than just the topline on your favorite DJ’s track. HAYLA is now unleashing the parts of her artistry she’s been quietly honing for years. “Heal” and “Enough” are the first tastes of the singer’s reinvention. Inspired by the likes of Ethel Cain and Lorde, this next era puts HAYLA’s versatility and passion on full display, as the singer is undoubtedly chasing main pop girl status.
Playlists & Polaroids had the privilege of attending the Los Angeles stop of HAYLA’s fall 2025 tour, where we first heard “Heal” and “Enough” live. Of course, we were captivated by her impeccable live vocals and stage presence. But in addition to that, we had the unique treat of seeing the initial stages of HAYLA’s transformation from EDM royalty to indie/dark pop legend.

Anyone who’s ever felt scared to love again after being let down will see themselves in “Heal.” It’s evident that HAYLA felt and meant every word as she recorded “Heal” in the studio - every nervous breath and subtle voice crack is captured in the song’s final mix, propelling the song forward and characterizing its emotion. As she sings of opening your heart to someone, HAYLA ensures to meet listeners where they’re at. The song speaks to the human desire of wanting to love and be loved, even when it seems difficult to open yourself up to it. A resonant tearjerker, “Heal” illustrates the scary feeling of letting your guard down, as you slowly but surely begin to let someone into your life.
Against a simplistic piano and strings arrangement, “Heal” shows off HAYLA’s beautiful alto range. A vulnerable, universally relatable track, the lyrics (and perhaps more importantly, her intentional delivery of them) left us covered in goosebumps. From its dissonant harmonies, to a vocal melody that just consumes the listener, to a soft yet mesmerizing outro, “Heal” is haunting and oddly comforting at the same time.
The equally cinematic “Enough” picks up where “Heal” left off, opening with ethereal production that loosely resembles the sound of a delicate object breaking. While “Heal” embraces HAYLA’s tenderness and is rooted in minor chords and an orchestral arrangement, “Enough” opts for a major key and a steady pace fueled by drums and a soft guitar. “Enough” tells the story of what happens after the ice thaws around your heart - only for your love to be unrequited, for someone to love the idea of you more than your true self. As HAYLA belts the question we’ve all unfortunately asked at some point in our lives - “Will I ever be enough?” - she ends the track on a powerful note and leaves listeners hungry for more. Both “Heal” and “Enough” leave a lingering sensation long after their final note fades, a marker of an expertly crafted and emotionally impactful work of art.
