Belfast-based duo Chalk embarked on their highly anticipated first-ever North American tour this November, and Playlists & Polaroids had the privilege of attending their LA stop at Gold Diggers. The experimental post-punk band is quickly climbing the ranks in the industry and preparing to fully achieve an international breakthrough - this tour comes after several other career milestones, including playing Glastonbury and opening for the legendary Fontaines D.C.

Chalk performed their latest single, "Can't Feel It," along with several other fan-favorites, captivating an engaged audience and showcasing their unique ability to blend seemingly opposite genres. This track contains futuristic beats and steady buildup to deliberately placed drops, while opting for heavy vocal delivery and exploring dark themes typical of punk music. The intense, cinematic masterpiece shows Chalk's unmatched affinity for emotional, multi-dimensional storytelling through multiple aspects of a soundscape.
Chalk's live performances lean more into the rock aspects of their artistry than EDM, but nevertheless, the narratives woven into Chalk's music only become more apparent when the songs are performed live. Equipped with statement sunglasses, studded cuffs, and bold electric guitars - even stepping into the crowd at especially poignant moments - the duo's unmatched energy and passion on stage keeps fans on their feet.
